We had a great 220+ to end the Ask, Seek, Knock series. The pre-service party was lots of fun with a live D.J. and free food. One thing that was really different was that we had a triple tag team message with Curtis, Wayne, and myself. It was a lot of fun interacting together and shraing on how God also asks, seeks, and knocks. The best part of the night was seeing 50 young people come to Christ. Looking forward to next month!
This January, we are launching an exciting new series entitled: "Ask, Seek, Knock." As our church is seeking the Lord during P21, 220 will dive into some messages that will help us draw closer to God than ever before. The main focus of this series is to empower you in the area of prayer. Your prayer time should not be a boring chore that you have to check off your list everyday. Instead, it should be a vibrant adventure that carries you deeper into the mystery of knowing God more everyday. By the end of the month, you will understand the true power of prayer, have an increased desire to seek God daily, and even learn some practical things that help you look forward to seeking God in prayer.
"Ask, Seek, Knock" Series
220 Service Thursdays, 7:00 p.m., Bethany South
We had a great time last Thursday at our monthly 220+ service. What makes "two-twenty plus" different from our other services is that its a a scheduled time once a month where we combined the Jr. High and High School and focus on giving a evangelistic presentation. It's a "plus" not only because we have special activties planned on that night, but also because we our goal is to see people "added" to the church through a creative presentation of the gospel.
The theme of our November service was, "The Good Soldiers" from 2 Timothy 2. You can check out the photos on our facebook page and in our media section on the 220 site. It was fun to see everyone dressed up in camo, but the highlight of the night is when 50 young people responded to the salvation altar call! Praise Jesus!
Keep checking back on the website to get updates for our December 220+ service. We got some great things planned!
We just had two back-to-back event filled weekends of encounter retreats for 220! Nearly 275 Jr. High and High school students spent 3 days encountering God and receiving a fresh start for their lives.
The encounter is a three day retreat that we do each semester. We hold the retreats at Bethany North in Baker, and they conclude with the Sunday morning service at the North Campus. What is awesome about these retreats is seeing young people truly open up in a way that they never would at a weekly service. On Saturday we have sessions that help them with their self-image, find healing from past hurts, and freedom from past sins.
Everything culminates with the Cross session on Saturday night. The focus of this session is for each student to receive a revelation of the price that was paid for their sin and the love that is available to them through the gift of the Cross. The retreat wraps up on Sunday with teachings on how to live the new life they have, and a session on “Who is the Holy Spirit.” The guys encounter was particularly fun, since we included a 15 foot bonfire on Saturday night. Each young man ran across a bridge and through a piece of paper that represents their old life into the fire, and yelled, “It is finished!”
After that they erupted into dancing and shouting. We even had a fire truck on hand sounding the sirens in celebration. It is truly amazing to see young people get healed and delivered, and it is something we will be celebrating throughout eternity!
When the school year begins it always brings with it a sense of a new season. That is in part because shortly after school begins the seasons change to autumn. This is one of my favorite times of the year, because of all that is happening in the ministry.
We have already had a tremendous combined service at the end of September where we had QB competition, autographs from local sports celebrities, and many people saved. You can view those pictures here. We are now calling our combined services 220+, and I can’t wait to see all the new people that God adds to our ministry through these once a month events.
One thing I look forward to more than anything else is our encounter. So many lives get changed at every retreat by the power of God. There is nothing like seeing a young person get away from their environment for a few days and see them receive the freedom and healing that God intends them to have. Our next guys’ encounter is October 28-31, and the next girls’ encounter is November 4-6.
The 2011 edition of the 220 Conference was an exciting mix of old and new. The conference kicked off with a bang on Tuesday night. Pastor Russell Evans and the Planetshakers Band were at the conference for the first time, and they knocked it out of the park. Pastor Russell shared on the power of praise, and many were touched and healed during the service. We also really enjoyed having the Planetshakers Band help lead in worship.
The second day of the conference looked a little bit different from what we have done in the past. The morning started out with Pastor Joel ministering on the “generation of rage.” This is also when we began the youth-pastor track. Then after that, the second annual Hippo Water Fest began in the afternoon, despite the rain. The day concluded with the recording of a new Deluge Band worship album, the graduation of this year’s class of 220i, as well as an anointing service where everyone at the conference was prayed for.
On Thursday we had some more powerful sessions in the morning and then a time of training in afternoon workshops with the 220 youth staff. The conference concluded with a Deluge Band concert and live recording for the new album. This year included powerful sessions, practical workshops, impartation to youth pastors, ministry to parents, live interviews of pastors and young people, phenomenal worship, and even a live recording of a CD. I don’t think we have ever tried to pull off so much at a conference, but it was a blast. Looking forward to next year!
Wow! I can’t believe this internship year is almost over. It seems like just yesterday this year’s crew was on the field having their intern boot camp. And now, over 60 young men and women will finish this race at our annual 220 conference next week. This class has excelled in every area—spiritually, mentally, and physically—and we are so excited about what the Lord has in store for them. I couldn’t begin to recount to you all of the miracles, all of the healings, all of the wonderful things that the Lord has done through them. One of my favorite intern memories of this year is The 99 event. The 99 was a citywide outreach we did as a church where we saw over 25,000 people receive the message of the gospel. Every weekend in October, along with other 220 leaders and leaders of Bethany World Prayer Center, interns put in many hours serving in this production. They all served with such humble hearts and great attitudes. I was so proud that this group rose to the challenge and made this event such a great success. We have some exciting things planned for 2011–2012, including our new Bible school program and a worship institute. Please check our website, 220i.net, for information and updates.
The “Generation of Rage” 220 Conference is just around the corner! The 220 Conference has a history of intense and impacting sessions that impart a fresh fire for God in a revival atmosphere. This year will be no different. We are very excited to announce that Pastor Russell Evans will be joining us this year along with the Planetshakers band. As always, Pastor Joel will be ministering and the Deluge band will be leading worship as well. This should make for one of our best conferences yet.
Our generation of young people is suffering from an attack of the enemy that only the Holy Spirit can resolve. This is a need that this year’s conference is going to tackle head on. Pastor Joel Stockstill and Pastor Larry Stockstill will be ministering to both troubled youth and their parents who are a part of the “Generation of Rage.” You can register for this year’s conference by going to 220conference.com.
I am very excited to announce that 220 will be having its first outdoor service on Thursday, May 26 at Bethany South! It will be a 220 Luau with plenty of water fun and other great activities. There will be a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, volleyball, vendors, a skate park, a huge water balloon fight, a gigantic slip and slide, and much more!
The highlight of the night will be when we come together outside for our first outdoor service. Everyone will want to bring a beach towel or beach chair to sit on, as we will be meeting in the field at Bethany South. This will not be a night that you will want to come dressed in your “Sunday Best.” Come expecting to get wet after the service and enjoy many of the outdoor activities that we will have planned. Bring your own Super Soaker if you want!
Make sure to invite everyone you know and get there at 6 p.m. for activities. The service starts at 7 p.m., with more water fun to follow.

Just the facts:
The first four months of this year has been tremendous for 220. So much has happened in just the first four months of 2011, its almost as if an entire year of activities has already happened!
In the beginning of the year, we had a tremendous time of holiness, prayer, and consecration to the Lord through 21 days of prayer and revival throughout the entire church.
This led into February where 220 spent a month in a series called “No Greater Love.” Over 800 young people came together for our evangelistic service where many were saved. Our encounters also took place during this time, and over 440 young people attended over three weekends.
March brought the 8th Deluge Festival that was a refreshing time in God’s presence. It was also in March then that we spent a month growing in the “220 Life” through teachings on Galatians 2:20 in all of our services. Again, over 800 young people came together for our combined service where many gave their lives to Jesus.
In April we went into our “Training Day” series and walked through 1&2 Timothy in all of our services. It was also in April that the 220 Leadership Conference brought leaders and pastors from around the country to grow in the message of discipleship and radical youth ministry.
Now that the school year is winding down, I am really looking forward to the summer, and what God has in store for 220 for the rest of the year!
